"Irving Milton Smock*, 82, of Waynesburg, died Tuesday at Fort Logan Hospital. Born Aug. 9, 1916, in South Rockwood, Mich., he was a son of the late Lewis and Mary Liagines Smock. He was a paper mill worker. Survivors include his wife, Detty May Smock; seven sons, Wayne, Gerald and Charles Smock, all of Tazewell, Tenn., Leland and Kenny Smock of Monroe, Mich., Ralph Smock of Taylor, Mich., and Jack Smock of Toledo, Ohio; six daughters, Marilyn Williams of New York, JoAnn Crisp and Charlene Combs, both of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., Peggy Homer of Taylor, Kathy Costigan of New Hampshire and Denise Owens of Tazewell; 32 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Smock. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Double Springs Cemetery by the Rev. Brad King."

*Obituary stated Milton's name as "Irving Milton" but Census, Marriage and Social Security Death Index records all state the name as "Milton Irving".

Hazel Helen Smock (Mayes) was his first wife, Detty was his second.
