At the age of 15, William Allen moved to the Claremore, Oklahoma area with his parents, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Except for a period of about 5 years which he spent in Claremore in the employ of the Patterson Transfer Company, he was engaged in farming in Rogers County.
On January 6, 1918, he married Maude Steele of Rudy, Arkansas. To this union were born eight children:

Ivan Lee Rose (1921-1985)
Marion Kenneth Rose (1922-1922 stillborn)
Alice Virginia Rose (1926-1957)

William Allen Rose, 77, a longtime resident of Rogers county, died at his home near Claremore shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday. He had lived in or near Claremore most of his adult life. Funeral services have been set for Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Musgrove funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. He is survived by a son, Ivan Rose of the U.S. Navy; five daughters, Miss Serena Rose of Claremore, Miss Alice Rose of Enid, Mrs. Burdett Sager of Wichita, Kans, Mrs. William Daugherty of Dearborn Mich, and Mrs. David Robinson of Muskegon, Mich; and a sister, Mrs. Myrl Williams of Claremore.
