Raymond Harm Ashabranner went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in Brady, TX at the age of 72 years 9 months and 8 days. The family will receive visitors on Friday, June 22, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 23 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Flat Rock Cemetery in Llano County with interment to follow. The Reverends Richard Evans and Charles Stokes will officiate. Justin McFarland will provide the musical accompaniment.

Raymond was born on September 12, 1934 to John Nelson and Myrtle Violet (Daugherty) Ashabranner in Burnet County. He married Frances Goff on December 26, 1984 in Brady, Texas. Coming to Brady from Llano 22 years ago, Raymond was a truck driver. He loved to fish, tell stories and jokes, and act as a shade tree mechanic for his family. Survivors include his wife, Frances Ashabranner of Brady; four sons Raymond Dale Ashabranner and wife Stacey of Marble Falls, Roger Jay Ashabranner and wife Michelle of Llano, Harold Clint Low and wife Jerri of Mason, and Bill Douglas Ashabranner of Llano; three daughters, Patricia Louise Conner and husband Jon of Austin, Donna Kay Crawford and husband James of Brownwood, and Joyce Ivera Stewart and husband Nathan of Lubbock; three brothers, Rayburn Ashabranner of Cedar Hill, Sam Ashabranner of Segoville, and Jack Ashabranner of Round Rock; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley Clarice (Rogers) Ashabranner on September 19, 1983; one sister, and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Darrel Underwood, Jason Conner, Cheko Morales, J.R. Decker, Ross Decker, and Kevin Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Berryhill, Roy Goff, Chester Low, Harold Underwood, Rodney McFarland, Kerry Gilmore, Les Roland, Mike Rogers, Scott Rogers, David Reeder, and Dink Christopher. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Suzy Tripp, P.O. Box 202, Brady, TX 76825, or to American Lung Association, P.O. Box 26460, Austin, TX 78755.
