Paul Edward Sherman, 67 of Logansport, passed away at 4:19 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009 in Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer. He had fought a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease.
Born March 20, 1942 in Cass County, Indiana, he was the son of Earl R.and Mary M. McNaught Sherman. He was married November 5, 1966, in the Bethel Church in Rensselaer to Shirley Ann Warren Sherman, who survives.
Mr. Sherman was proud to be a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was self-employed as a truck driver.
Above all else, Mr. Sherman was a devoted evangalist for Jesus Christ, spreading the Gospel to everyone he met and sharing his love for the Lord.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Stephen Donald Sherman, of Macy, and Earl R. Sherman II, of Logansport; one daughter, Mary Margaret Sherman, of Logansport; two sisters, Kathryn Foust, Logansport, and Ellen Yoder, Littleton, Colorado; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina Marie Sherman in 2003 and one son, Shawn Paul Sherman in 2004.
Funeral Information
Friends will be received , 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 16 at the Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport, and one hour prior to the services in the church.
Services will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Friday, July 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Berlin officiating.
Interment, with full military rites, will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, Logansport.
