EUREKA, Kan.- Lloyd M. Higbee Sr., 64, retired truck driver for the Greenwood County Highway Department, died Thursday. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Campbell Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Ruby; three sons, Melvin E., Severy, Kan., Orville L., Eureka, and Lloyd Jr., Holton, Kan., and a brother, Harold, Eureka.

OBITUARY - Lloyd Higbee
Lloyd Melvin Higbee, son of William B. Higbee and Goldie Scott Higbee, was born October 10, 1909 and departed this life in Greenwood County Hospital on April 4 at the age of 64 years.
Born in Lapland, he moved to Neal at the age of nine where he grew to manhood.
On November 16, 1931 at Howard he was united in marriage to Ruby Key. To this union were born three sons, Melvin, Orville and Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bessie Karraker, and a brother, Martin.
He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather and a true friend. He will be greatly missed by all his family and those who knew him.
Survivors include his widow, Ruby, of the home; his sons, Melvin and Orville of Severy, and Lloyd Jr. of Holton; a brother, Harold, of Eureka; 11 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted from Campbell Funeral Home on April 6 with interment in Neal Cemetery. Rev. Leo Young was officiating clergyman.
