Karen was born, raised and educated in Lawrence. She attended Lawrence Schools, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1961. Karen worked as a manager with the I.R.S. for 32 years. She greatly enjoyed the water, a championship diver in her younger years and more recently enjoying water aerobics. She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time at the beach and was a devoted member of St. Monica's Church in Methuen. She most enjoyed her family, sleepovers with her beloved grandchildren and will be remembered for being full of life. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Karen is predeceased by the love of her life, Edward Batson and her brother Frank O'Connor and her parents Frank and Edna (Gallagher) O'Connor. She leaves her three sons, Daniel Tardugno of Everett, MA, Barry and his wife Sherilyn of Methuen, MA and Jay Tardugno of Methuen, MA; two sisters, Linda and her husband Ron D'Arcangelo of Haverhill and Gail and her husband Stephen Turner of Haverhill; four grandchildren, Julia, Stephanie, Brooke and Alexandra; her former husband, Daniel Tardugno and many dear friends.
Friends and guests are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 14th at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. A Funeral Mass in her honor will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday at St. Monica's Church, Methuen.
Burial is to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
