Final rites were observed for Claude Virgil Grisham, 64, at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Blue Ridge Baptist Church, with Rev. Wheeler, pastor of the church officiating and with the Bob Riley Funeral Home in charge. Interment was in the Blue Ridge Cemetery with F. W. Taylor, A. L. McAnally, Foy O'Bannon, Albert Parsley, Hubert Jackson, and Jim Garner as pallbearers.
A native of the Blue Ridge community, Mr. Grisham, was born April 12, 1891. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Grisham. He passed away at the Hamilton Hospital, Thursday night following a heart attack.
In 1914, he was married to Miss Nancy Blackshear, who died in 1931. He reared their four children to be grown, living in the Blue Ridge and Hamilton areas. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Baptist Church.
Surviving are his four children, including Auline Grisham, serving in the U. S. Navy; Bill Grisham, Cambridge, Massachusetts; Carl Grisham, of San Antonio; and Mrs. Harvey Kent, New York City. Also surviving were seven grandchildren and one sister.
