CITY DELEGATION TO MEET LYNNER'S BODY AT LOGAN

Lynn will pay homage to one of its heroic sons today when Mayor J. Warren Cassidy will head a delegation of city officials and representatives of veterans organizations that will go to Logan Airport to receive the body of Marine Cpl. George A. Odiorne.
Cpl. Odiorne, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Odiorne Jr., 33 Carnes St., was killed in action near An Hoi, Vietnam last Wednesday.
A plane bearing his coffin is scheduled to arrive at the airport at 4:25 p.m. The remains of the heroic Marine, who asked for and received a transfer from aircraft carrier duty to the battle zone, will then be officially received by the city from the marine escort accompanying the body.
A military funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the St. Laurent Funeral Home, 554 Western Ave., followed by a Requiem Mass at 10 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Jean's Cemetery.
Cpl. Odiorne, who arrived in Vietnam in January, was a member of the First Marine Division. He was the 53rd Greater Lynner to lose his life in the Vietnam conflict and the first this year.
