Margaret and her husband, William Gorman are first recorded in United States records with the birth of their son, Richard in Brooklyn, New York 19 July 1852. Margaret and William are next seen in Ottawa where three of their children were baptized. The children being: Mary Ann baptized Nov 1854, Denis born 22 Jul 1858, and William Thomas born 21 Apr 1861. William died at Freedom Center, Illinois 1874 from injuries he incurred as the result of a collision with a run away buggy. Margaret sold the family farm in Ophir Township, LaSalle, Illinois and with her three sons came to East Grove Twp., Lee, Illinois to be near her brother, Thomas Pyne. her daughter, Mary Ann, has been lost to time not being seen after the 1870 census. William's burial site in unknown believed to be in LaSalle County.
