Larkspur, Colo. - Stephen Gerald Alred, 52, of Larkspur, formerly of Waverly, died Oct. 9, 2000, at his home.
He was born Sept. 14, 1948, in Jacksonville, the son of Gerald and Geneva Ballard Alred. He married Hillary Meacham in 1983 in Boulder, Colorado.
Mr. Alred graduated from Waverly High School in 1966 and from Sangamon State University. He co-managed Plum Creek Hollow Farm with his wife, where he managed a large horse breeding program.
Survivors: two sons, Spencer and Seth Alred, both of Larkspur, Colo.; mother and stepfather, Geneva and Eugene Martin of Bella Vista, Ark.; and two sisters, Joan (husband, Stuart) Brandon of DeKalb and Kathy (husband, Dr. John) Lin of Lake Forest.
Memorial services: 2 p.m. Saturday,Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
