Former Brooklyn city councilman and longtime Democratic political operative Lew Fidler has died, according to police sources and local pols.
He was 62.
Fidler was found unconscious on the floor of a Queens movie theater Saturday afternoon, police sources said. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and died an unspecified amount of time later, sources added.
Fidler served in City Council from 2002 to 2013, repping southeastern Brooklyn neighborhoods including Canarsie, Marine Park and Mill Basin. He also managed the 1989 campaign of longtime Brooklyn DA Charles Hynes.
