On May 12, 2018, my dad, Lloyd Abba, passed away peacefully under the wonderful care of the nurses and staff at DJ Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. Lloyd was born on October 16, 1929 and is preceded in death by his loving parents, Lawrence and Ora Abba of L’Anse; sisters, Doris of L’Anse, Rose of Escanaba; brothers, Francis Abba of California and Clyde Abba of Neenah, WI; and son, Edward F. Niemi of Ishpeming, MI.
Survivors include his brothers, Ronald Abba of California and Larry Abba of Neenah, WI, his sons, Larry L. Niemi of Tennessee, David M. Niemi of Milwaukee, WI, Douglas E. Niemi of Ishpeming, MI, Scott Niemi , Daryl Niemi and Jon M. Abba of Marquette, MI; special grandson, Rowdy J. Abba of Marquette, MI; special niece, JoAnn Clough of Wisconsin; and special nephew, Wayne Abba of Florida.
Lloyd loved his job working for the great State of Michigan. He loved to play cards and loved to go fishing although he never ate fish. He will be missed by all.
At Lloyd’s request, burial will take place at Rapid River Cemetery.
