Edgar Andersen Petersen passed away quietly in his sleep on September 7, 2017 in Carpinteria, CA.

Eddie was born April 16, 1957 in Waukegan, Illinois and came to Santa Barbara in 1961 with his parents, Anna and Esper Petersen together with his older sister Ann Petersen and older brother Esper Petersen, Jr.

Ed was an avid bicyclist in his youth, as well as a game hunter and a political blogger. As a first generation Danish American, he was extremely proud of his Viking heritage and a very staunch American patriot.

Family was very important to Eddie and he kept in close contact with his immediate family, including his brother in law Leslie Pam, as well as his Aunt Edel Simons and cousins Kelley Giffin, Phil Simons and Lise Jacobson in California and his cousins Johan Petersen, Linda Petersen Riter, Karen Petersen, Connie Dempster and Lena Petersen in Illinois.

He also had a very special place in his heart for his nephews Esper Petersen III and Martin Petersen, for his extended family in Denmark, and for Danny Winkowski and Jason Petersen.

Finally, his friends gave him great comfort and support as he faced his extremely debilitating illness of muscular dystrophy. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
