TRIPLETT, George William Born October 12, 1927. Passed Away Peacefully July 12, 2008 at Victoria General Hospital. Born in London, England, along with three sisters Gladys, Lillian and Joan. George joined the British Army (Grenadier Guards) in 1944. Met and married Patricia Shadrake in 1949. George and Pat emigrated to Canada in 1958 along with their two sons. They settled in Edmonton, Alberta where George was a city Police Officer for ten years. They then moved to Victoria, BC where George finished his career as a Correctional Officer at Wilkinson Road Prison. George was very active in the community and was in the South Van Isle Lions Club for 35 years. He was a very helpful and caring person and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by wife Patricia; sons Mark (Jacqueline), Stuart (Betty), Richard (Peta); daughters Donna (Char), Mrs. Jean Ann CYR (Kevin) and Valerie (Mark). Predeceased by daughter Margaret. He has eight grandchildren Ashleigh, Shauna, Ryan, Stephanie, Danielle CYR, Kaitlyn, Michael and Zachary. He wished to be buried at Hatley Memorial in Colwood, BC with a small family gathering. There will be a celebration of his life at his family home in Metchosin following the funeral. We will miss you, Dad. Love from the family.
