He met and married Mary E.A. Murphy in 1892 and traveled
via wagon to I.T. receiving Indian Lands in Chickasaw Nation. After he passed away in 1914, his widow married
Earl B. Wright, Sr. in 1917 at Lawton, OK. James was married three times. The first wife one son was born, second wife one son was born. Third wife Mary Wright and he had James A. Jr., Robert D., Levi, William E., Inez Stevens, and Mrs Oma N. Douglas.
