Wolfe County News - February 9, 1973. - G.O. BROOKS, 44 KILLED WHEN STRUCK BY AUTOMOBILE. - George Ottis Brooks, 44, was killed when struck by an automobile, while repairing a flat tire on I-64 near Lexington Saturday evening, Feb. 3.He was the son of Frank and Effie Hall Brooks of Gilmore. - Other survivors include one son, Scotty Brooks of Simpson, Ky., one stepson, Greg Haddix of Breathitt county; two daughters, Mrs. Connie Hollon of Lexington and Mrs. Debbie Deborah of North Carolina; one step-daughter Brenda Hall of Hazel Green; four brothers, Denzil, Eugene, and H.C. Brooks, all of Middletown, Ohio, and Donald Brooks of Rogers, and two grandchildren. - Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Gilmore church of God by Rev. Green Ratliff. Burial was in the Hazel Green Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Porter and Son Funeral Home, Campton
