Jones, Virginia “Jenny” Desper Bruffey, 82, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 30, 2019. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to the late Charles “Charlie” Richard Jones, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Ballard Bruffey, Sr. and Mary Anna Hayes Bruffey; beloved brothers, Paul Ballard Bruffey, Jr., Michael Catlett Bruffey, Sr; and a very special nephew, Matthew Ballard Bruffey. Jenny was the caring mother to Mary Catherine “Cathy” Jones Barnard and her husband, Harlan, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; son, Charles Richard “Rick” Jones, Jr. of Richmond; grandchildren, Kristy Ann, Katherine “Kit”, Charles “Charlie” III, Robert Paul Joseph “Joe”, Andrew Scott “Andy”, Benjamin David “Ben”; her beloved brother, Danny “Dan” Ross Bruffey and his wife, Joyce, of Garner, N.C.; her sister-in-love, Dixie Bruffey Ledford of Richmond; her loving niece, Donna Lee Bruffey.
Family will receive friends 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad St. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Westhampton Memorial Park, 10000 Patterson Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad, 2007 Timberlake Ave., Richmond, Va. 23228, or to ALS (Lou Gehrig’s) Association, 615 South Frederick Ave., Suite 308, Gaithersburg, Md, 20877.
