Mary was a daughter of Aaron M. and Mary Anna (Whitney) Murphy who resided at Montalba Township, Anderson, TX. She migrated to I.T. as early as 1893, with her first husband, J.A. McLellan Sr. She had 8 children during her lifetime,
J.A. McLellan Jr., Robert D.,Levi,William Ephraim,Inez Stevens, and Mrs. Oma N. Douglas, as well as two sons by her second husband, Earl they had Earl Jr., and Frank Wright. Mary had 2 brothers, John F.,died at age 17 buried at Holly Springs, Texas cemetery ? and William Thomas,who lived at Palestine, Anderson,TX, as well as two half siblings, Ida Murphy Williams,of Carroll Springs,Henderson, TX and Aaron M. Murphy, Jr. of Dallas County, Texas.

3/31/1960- Tuttle Times:
Mrs Mary E. A. Wright, 86, died Sunday afternoon, March 27, at the University Hospital, Oklahoma City, after an extended illness. Mrs Wright was born in Palestine, TX, 1/3/1874. She had lived in this community for 61 years, coming here from Caddo. The widow of the late Earl Wright, who was a farmer & rancher near here. Survivors are 4 sons, Levi McClelland of Baldwin Park, Calif, W.E. McClelland of Visia, Calif, Earl Wright of Yukon, & Frank Wright of Albuquerque, NM, 2 daughters, Mrs A.J. Stevens & Mrs G.C. Douglas of Oklahoma City. Services will be announced by Sowers Funeral Home.

4/7/1960:
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 30, at the First Baptist church for Mary Wright, with Rev Bill Forester officiating. A trio, Miss Becky Huffine, Miss Karen Cobble, & Miss Carolyn Marlow provided the music. Pallbearers were D.L. Cobble, Glenn Peck, Joe Hartin, V.T. Gannaway, Horace Potter, & Benny Douglas.
Mrs Wright was a member of the Baptist church. Interment was in Fairlawn Cemetery, Tuttle, under direction of Sowers funeral home.
