Vaughn Lester Anderson, 90, of Batesville died Thursday, January 11, 2007, in a local hospital.

Born July 28, 1916 in Strawberry, he was the son of George and Viola Russell Anderson. He was retired from Royal Crown Cola Bottling Company and Jackson Cookie Company. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific. He was a charter member of the Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Anderson and his wife Brenda Anderson of Batesville, Donald Anderson and his wife Peggy Anderson of Batesville; five grandchildren, Christopher Anderson, Blythe Keller, Kyle Anderson, Kelley Anderson, and Matt Anderson; seven great-grandchildren, Jacob Anderson, Caleb Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Morgan Keller, Presley Kate Anderson, Brittni Anderson and Joey Watkins; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Avis Lackey Anderson; four brothers, John William Anderson, Wes Anderson, Corbett Anderson and Les Anderson; three sisters, Virgie Seward, Virgie Ring and Cauline Hobbs; and a grandson, Ryan Clark Anderson.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Batesville with Alan Meinzer officiating. Burial will be at Milligan Campground Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers will be David Anderson, Nathan Grant, Lance Hall, Tom Hess, Fred Sifford and Charles Webb.

Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons, granddaughters, and the Adult Sunday School Classes of Faith Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
