Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Moline United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gary Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in Moline Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with the Moline United Methodist Church and the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University. Contributions may be left with Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.
Sheel was born June 2, 1933, in Howard, to Opal Gladys (Criger) and Emera Fredrick Sheel. He attended school in Moline and graduated from Moline High School in 1951. He graduated from Kansas State University at Manhattan and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957.
On July 31, 1954, he married Lavoy Good in Ashland. Sheel and his brother owned and operated the Moline Feed Store and Elevator for many years. In 1975, he became an oil producer and continued in that business until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of the Moline United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lavoy Sheel, Moline, a son, William Sheel, Greeley, Colo.; two daughters, Sandra Pobst, Austin, Texas, and Mary Ann Segalla, Springdale, Ark.; a sister, Ruth Hisle, Moline, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
