Marsha Joan Evans Adkins, 63, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2003, at Norton Southwest Hospital. She was a native of Lexington, KY, a former secretary for Kentuckiana World Commerce Council, a former vice president of Adkins Construction Co., in promotions for Derby Park Traders Circle, a member of Valley View Baptist Church and KIDC and an honorary Kentucky Colonel. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lois Lynn Adkins, a son, Benjamin Harold Adkins Jr., and her father, James L. Evans. Survivors include her daughters, Jan Lauri Adkins, Samantha Del Adkins-Cox and Danielle Denise Adkins; her son, James Marshall Adkins; her mother, Della Evans Mattingly; her sister, Janice Evans Haddaway; and grandchildren, Natali, Bradley, Lance, Curtis, Cody, James, Rachel, Zachary and Baby Cole. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2003, at Arch L. Heady & Son-Dixie Hwy., with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, noon-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 am. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may go to the American Cancer Society.
