On Wednesday the 29th ult. Captain S W Shulock committed suicide in San Francisco, at the Prescott House, by shooting himself in the head with a pistol. A sickness inducing melancholia appeared to be the immediate cause. He left three letters. One was addressed to Mr Becker, proprietor of the above house, and asked that his body and effects be card for. The second letter was addressed to the Coroner and asked that his body not be placed in the morgue but sent to United undertakers. The third letter was addressed to J D Martin, 317 Kearny St, S F and asked that word be sent to his wife on Sonora, Cal., that his body not be taken to the morgue; that it be not kept longer than two days, and that he be buried in the Odd Fellows cemetery. Capt Shulock lived in Sonora several years and was much respected and esteemed. His friend sand acquaintances here express deep regret.
