If anyone knows anything about this family of Welches please contact the manager of this memorial. At this time it is unknown who the parents of Minor Columbus Welch are.
He was born in Tallapoosa, Alabama just before the Civil War abt. 1860. He married Georgia Ann Wright of Tallapoosa in 1881. They had the following children in Tallapoosa: Adella Welch, Catherine I. Welch, John Welch, and Thomas Jefferson Welch. They moved to Decatur, Texas and had one child, Vernon Welch, in 1894. In 1896 they were living in the Chickasaw Nation, I.T., Oklahoma and had Austin Welch, George Columbus Welch and Myrkle Welch. By 1900 and 1910 they were living in Bryan, Carter County, Oklahoma. I found them briefly in Oklahoma City Directories abt. 1916, then back down in Amarillo, Texas by the 1920 census. Minor passed in 1933, Georgia his wife lived briefly with her daughter Catherine Welch/Herrell in Perryton, Texas; Georgia was buried next to Minor in Llano, Cemetery at Amarillo in 1952.
