Bennett Easterling was the son of Samuel Easterling (1778-1842) of Marion County, SC/Autauga County AL, grandson of Reverend Henry Easterling of Marlboro district SC (1733-1800). Bennett was Postmaster of Coosada, in Autauga County AL in 1835. On 2 April 1840, he married Mary Bugg Robinson, daughter of James B. Robinson of Autauga Co. Bennett and family are on the 1850 Autauga County AL census as a farmer, with second wife Francis Beard, son Thomas E. Easterling, age 1, and a stepdaughter, Josephine Beard, age 16.

Bennett's second wife was Francis C. Beard of Autauga County AL who he married on 7 May 1845. Details of their lives after 1850 are still being researched.
