Lydia Maie Gardner, 86, of Marietta, died February 26, 2019. Funeral services were held at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel in Marietta. Burial was in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.

Maie was born in Carroll County, Mississippi November 4, 1932. She was the daughter of James Malcom McEachern and Lydia Maie Duke McEachern. Maie retired from the Cobb County Board of Commissioners after 30 years of service. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time at the lake and with family. She was fortunate enough to spend the last year of her life making new friends and doing new activities at Sterling Estates West Cobb.

Mrs. Gardner is survived by her son and daughter in law Charles James Gardner and Micheline; daughter and son in law Esther Elizabeth (Beth) Barrett and Brian; granddaughters Breana Elizabeth Barrett, Morgan Leigh Gardner, and Madison Kate Gardner; great grandson Kamden Lee Dabdoub; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gardner was preceded by her late parents and husband Charles Gary Gardner.
