Cheryl Lynn (Klicker) Voight, 63 of East Peoria, passed away at 5:56 p.m. February 11, 2019 at her home.

She was born May 2, 1955 in Peoria to Herschel and Corella “Corky” (Royer) Klicker.

In her teenage years she met Gale Voight at a skating rink and they later married on October 13, 1972 in Peoria. They have been rolling through life for the past 46 years.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of East Peoria; one daughter, Renee (Jim) Solofra of Cape Coral, Florida; one amazing grandson, Chase Solofra of Cape Coral, Florida; two brothers, Robert (Darlene Clark) Bishop of Bartonville and Steve (Kathy) Klicker of East Peoria and one sisiter, Rosemary Gray of Bartonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Mike Bishop.

She was greatly influenced by her mom and dear uncle Charles Royer, who she shared a birthday with. Her best buddies early on were her two older brothers, Mike and Bob and was nicknamed “Cheryl Tell” often begging her not to tattle to their mom about their antics. Cheryl then became a proud big sister of Rosemary and Steve.

Cheryl’s tenacious can-do attitude led her to college with a successful career in logistics. Early on she worked for Opals Truck Stop, Federal Companies, Cox Transfer and later retired from Estes Express.

She had a love for camping, racing and time spent in Florida. She had incredible knack for sneaking down to front rows of concerts, getting difficult autographs and putting all others ahead of herself.

Cheryl’s infectious smile, kind heart and loving spirit will be missed, yet cherished. She was baptized three ago at Northwoods Community Church in Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Judy Doyle will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
