Note: This marker was identified as Josiah's in a 2004 survey of the cemetery, despite it looking the same as now. According to the survey notes a previous survey in 1903 recorded the following epitaph:
Here lyes ye Body of Lieut. Josiah Bacon who Dec'd Octob'r ye 14th 1723 Aged about 45 years
