James Edward Hampton Buckland Jr., 39, of Jacksonville died January 29, 2019.

James was an amazing father and husband who loved his family and believed family came first. If you ever met him, you would never forget him, and all who knew him, loved him. He was a veteran of the U.S.M.C., having served eight years of dedicated service. He was a combat veteran, serving three tours in Iraq, and one tour in Afghanistan. He was a member of the Vietnam Vets Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lutitia Caudill.

He is survived by his wife, Tonja Buckland of the home. His daughter, Shelby Buckland. Father, Elvis Caudill and brother, John Caudill. Niece, Jordan McCoy. Father-in-law, William McCoy, and Mother-in-law, Cindy Graves. Brother-in-law, Dustin McCoy and wife Cindy, and Michael Clark, who was like a son to him, all of Jacksonville. In addition to his beloved family, he also leaves behind a multitude of friends.
