Bill was born to William and Jean (Craigie) Hodges. He joined the USMC and served in Vietnam as a Fire/Crash Rescue member of a helicopter team. After discharge he obtained a degree in Accounting and worked in the field until suffering a heart attack. Thereafter, he owned and ran a number of restaurant/bars. He survived an abdominal aortic aneurysm operation performed in Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston, MA. He suffered a fall while on vacation in Florida with his wife, Eva, succumbing to his injuries. At his side when he passed were his wife, Eva, his son Rhian and his daughter, Ashley.
