Donald Joseph Abner, 59, of Somerville, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at his home. Born July 3, 1942, in Middletown, he was the son of Elmer and Christine (Purcell) Abner. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and was employed by Aeronca Manufacturing for 35 years. Survivors include his wife, Emily McIntosh; five sons, Stanley Watts,Beckham Watts, Estill Watts and Christopher Watts, all of Franklin, and Tony Scheiber of Middletown; three daughters, Loretta Snelling, Tonda Cofield and Donna Schmeil, all of Middletown; mother, Christine Stidham of Middletown;two sisters, Nora Lee Brown of Middletown and Shar Williams of Trenton; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Funeral services were Sunday, June 2, followed by burial in Fairmound Cemetery, West Elkton.
