On June 11, 1939, Dee married William Lee "Dub" Russell in Texas and to this union was born two daughters, Stella Mae (McClatchey) and Edna Marie (Bonhon) and one son, William Lee Jr.
Dee was a kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and spend time with and spoil her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Oh yeah, and Dub too.
She also enjoyed gardening, canning, raising birds and especially enjoyed attending fiddle contests and campouts and visiting with the many friends she made over the years of being a member of the Eastern Arizona Oldtime Fiddlers Association.
Dee also loved to do hand crafts, especially making dolls, crocheting and sewing. She was also a member of St. Andrew Baptist Church in Safford, Arizona.
And, as if all the above wasn't enough to keep a person busy, Dee was also a longtime, hardworking member of the Safford Lioness Club.
It was while Dee was a patient at Tucson Medical Center on her and Dub's 60th anniversary and her 77th birhtday two days later that their world fell apart when they found out she had lung cancer.
Elizabeth Dee Coats Russell passed peacefully at her home in Safford, Arizona at 8:58 AM on Thursday, August 19, 1999 with family and friends at her side.
