New Rochelle - Rev. Brother Thomas Paul Draney CFC passed away on December 28, 2018. Brother Draney was born on February 5, 1947 in Weehawken, New Jersey, the son of John and Elizabeth Elsie Draney. He is a graduate of Longfellow Elementary School, Teaneck, New Jersey, and he attended Teaneck High School and All Hallows High School, and later Iona College where he graduated with a BA in English, and Seton Hall University where he received his MA in English. Brother Draney entered the congregation on June 26, 1945 and took his final vows on September 8, 1953. His ministry took him to many positions including, St. Bonaventure College in Newfoundland, Canada, All Hallows High School Community, Cardinal Hayes High School, Iona Preparatory School, Essex Catholic High School, Bishop Gibbons High School in Schenectady New York where he was principal, Catholic School Administrators Catholic League, Rice High School, Christ House Community & Ministry where he was the administrator, Sabbatical C.T.U., Los Hermanos Community and Casa Quadalupe Community in Bonita Springs, Florida, and St. Joseph's Residence. Brother Draney is survived by his niece Judy DiBernardo and nephews Paul and Lawrence Mesiti. He was predeceased by his parents and brother John and sister Mary D. Mesiti. A wake will be held at St. Joseph's Residence, 30 Montgomery Circle, New Rochelle, NY 10804, on Wednesday January 2, 2019 from 1 to 4 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle, NY at 9:00 AM on Thursday January 3, 2019. Interment to follow at Christian Brothers Cemetery in West Park, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Joseph Residence, 30 Montgomery Circle, New Rochelle, NY 10804.
