BATTLE CREEK, MI - Eloyse Marie Nelson, age 93, of Battle Creek and formerly of Hastings, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek. Eloyse was born on June 16, 1925, in Battle Creek, the daughter of Luster and Louella (Crocker) King. She married Kenneth Nelson on December 18, 1950 in South Dakota. He preceded her in death in 2003. Eloyse was a corrections officer and retired from Riverside Ionia Correctional Facility in 1991. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Eloyse is survived by her sons, Norman (Judy) Nelson and Kevin (Karen) Nelson and her daughter, Cecilia (Jeff) Wiker. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jason Nelson, Daryl Beyersdorf, Katelyn Nelson, Adam Wiker, Krista Nelson and Aimee Wiker. She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Kathy Beyersdorf in 2013.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018 at Royal Funeral Home.
