Hazel Delores Mosteller Burdette, 81, of Johns Island, South Carolina, wife of Walter D. "Butch" Burdette entered into eternal rest Tuesday, December 11, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 13, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 14, 2018 in in Stuhr's West Ashley Chapel 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
Hazel was born March 18, 1937 in Washington, District of Columbia. She was a member of Stono Baptist Church,where she was the church "prayer warrior leader". She loved her girls, her grandchildren, and loved the Lord.
She is survived by the love of her life of 59 years, Walter D. "Butch" Burdette of Johns Island, SC; five daughters, Laura Payne of California, MD, Eileen Lewis (Dixie) of Springfield, MO, Terry Levy of Johns Island, SC, Cheryl Potzner (Mark) of Richmond Hill, GA, Robin Hux (Robert) of Johns Island, SC; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stono Baptist Church, 953 Main Road, Johns Island, SC, 29455.
