Obituary for Freddie Alcorn
Funeral services for Freddie Morgan Alcorn, 88, of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, December 14th at Dyer Funeral Home. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Friday from 10 am until time of service.
Freddie passed away Tuesday December 11, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born July 8, 1930 in Putnam County, TN, to the late Howard Alcorn and Maggie Bryant Alcorn.
Freddie was a US Army Veteran. He was retired from Acme Boot and Red Kap in Cookeville.
He was active member of Holladay Church of Christ and was loved by his family and friends. Freddie was a caregiver at heart.
In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by wife, Gladys Jean Dubree Alcorn; brother, James (Dot) Alcorn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Omer (Bessie) Dubree, Earl Fox, Keith Heiskell, Lex (Nell) Dubree, and Sue Farris; nephew, Billy Dubree, and niece, Betty Alcorn; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Loree Dubree.
He is survived by his brother, Lloyd Alcorn; nephew, Donald (Linda) Alcorn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Loama Fox Heiskell, Rellon Farris, and Bette Dubree; nieces and nephews, Brenda (Larry) Lewis, Debbie Smith Dubree, Michael (Kelly) Dubree, Dewanna (Kenneth) Whitefield, Ronnie Fox, Linda (Steve) Leftwich, Barbara (Rick) Harris, Margarett (Shane) Ward, Danny Dubree, Sissy Farris, Patty (Larry) Haston, Shannon (Tim) Maddle, and Kaye Dubree; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
