Ariane Atalanta Dixon passed away at her home in Loxahatchee on Monday, December 3, 2018. Ariane struggled with bi-polar depression and although she began treatment, she succumbed to this disease and sadly took her own life. Ariane was a native Floridian, born in Wellington on May 8, 2001 and was 17 at the time of her passing.

How can you encapsulate someone's life and the effect they had on the world in just a few paragraphs? She was unique and unforgettable. She could be quiet, an introvert, but also a rebel and spontaneous. She had a quick wit, and enjoyed bringing laughter out in others. Ariane was like a magnet, drawing others who just enjoyed being with her. She had insights beyond her years into things that brought new perspectives and helped others to be bigger persons.

Ariane could see beauty in all types of music, paintings, and writings, and had the ability to share her sense of their beauty and meanings. She was a talented artist in drawings and paintings. She was always interested in the story of why people were they way they were. In her writings, she could reveal hidden aspects of people and topics, helping others to see things in a new way.

She was an early avid reader, preferring non-fiction books such as the life of Helen Keller when in elementary school. Later she enjoyed classics like the Divine Comedy, On the Road, The Catcher in the Rye, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Slaughterhouse Five, Fahrenheit 451, Crime and Punishment, and more. She read books to learn and to experience, not just to pass the time. She loved to discuss the different ideas they gave her.

In a way, she had an old soul, loving the music of the 60's, 70's, and 80s, including the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and The Doors; more artists than we can list. She loved that Jim Morrison once described himself as a large mammal when asked about his weight. She played French horn in her middle school band, and was learning to play the guitar.

She wanted to travel; she loved the beach and just being outdoors. She even thought about joining the Peace Corps.

Ariane was a senior at Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach FL in the Communication Arts program. She previously attended Osceola Creek Middle School in Loxahatchee FL.

Ariane attended Community of Hope Church in Loxahatchee Groves FL.

Her family loves her dearly and will always deeply miss her. She taught us so much in her short time here. She taught her parents how overwhelming love can be, how close a relationship can be, how greatly God loves and blesses His children with gifts beyond measure.

She is survived by her parents, Terrance and Adrienne Dixon,
grandparents Robert and Linda Gines, Charles Dixon, and Shirley LaFreniere as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins in Florida, Michigan, Missouri, Indiana, and New Jersey. As many as can are traveling to see her one more time.

All are welcome to the service to celebrate her life and commit her to our Lord. The service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Community of Hope Church, 14055 Okeechobee Blvd, Loxahatchee FL 33470. Visitation is at 2:00 pm and the Service at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, 3100 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33409 (www.peggyadams.org)
