Russell Lee “Mickey” Hardway, age 81, of Farmington, WV passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 21, 1937 at Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Carl Hardway and Lena Pearl Deal Hardway.

Mickey is survived by two daughters, Robin Taylor of Worthington, and Darla and Randy Hixenbaugh of Fairmont; three grandchildren, James Robert (Amanda) Taylor of Worthington, Russell Lane (Lauren) Hixenbaugh of Barrackville, and Jacob Adam (Savannah) Hixenbaugh of Farmington; one great-granddaughter, “his little darling” Carman Hixenbaugh; three sisters, Rose Thomas of Burton, Maxine Parrish of Barrackville and Gladys Hardway of Ocala, FL; one brother, Edwin Hardway of Fairmont; several nieces and nephews, step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by two wives, Vera June Hardway and Martha Hardway; and five siblings, Virgil Hardway who died in infancy, Opal Palmer, Carl Hardway Jr., Ervin Hardway, and Ida Humbertson.

Mickey loved to farm and enjoyed his horses and woodworking. He was a member of the UMWA and had retired from the coal mines with 42 total years, 28 being at Four States #20 and 14 being at Loveridge Mine. He was a member of TLC Ministries in Four States. He was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Family and friends will be received at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main Street, Mannington, WV on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 am with Pastor Sabrina Haught officiating. Burial will follow at the Martin Cemetery in Eldora.
