Jay L. "Frenchy" Coudriet Sr., 69, of Tarentum, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at home. He was born March 22, 1937, in New Kensington to the late Ralph V. and Mary C. Salada Coudriet and also was predeceased by brothers Gerry, Norman, Darrell and Donald Coudriet. Mr. Coudriet was a 1957 graduate of Arnold High School, lived in Tarentum since 1977 and was employed at Allegheny Ludlum's Brackenridge Works for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Logans Ferry Presbyterian Church and enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially the Steelers, and listening to country music. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Doris J. Schantz Coudriet; son, Jay Lynn Coudriet Jr., of Tarentum; grandchildren, Jodie Eckman, Jay (Courtney) and Joshua Martin, Tina Frank, Brandon Holmes and Jamie Coudriet; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Mark, Jakob and Hunter Eckman and Dravon Frank; brother, Ralph (Lorenna) Coudriet, of Dayton, Ohio, and sister, Myrna (John) Fisher, of Arnold. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday with his pastor, the Rev. Robert J. Henry, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
