Grandfather of 12
Pedro Lopez Agatep, 79, of Stockton died Monday in a Stockton
hospital. A native of the Philippines, Mr. Agatep came to Stockton 12 years
ago. He had worked as a farm laborer for Volpi & Son during the early 1980s.
He was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Santo Domingo, Stockton Chapter,
and the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Survivors include his wife, Cipriana Agatep of Stockton; three daughters,
Florentina Taruc of the Philippines, and Marilyn Tamargo and Thelma Dougherty,
both of Stockton; two sons, Jose Agatep and Rodrigo Agatep, both of Stockton;
a brother, Eligio Agatep of San Marcos; a sister, Cristeta Tolete of New
Jersey; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A vigil will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Monday in DeYoung Shoreline Chapel,
7676 Shoreline Drive.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of the Presentation, 1515 W. Benjamin Holt Drive.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday, 10 a.m. to — p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel.
Burial will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.
