Ernest Ray Alexander, beloved husband of Rebecca 'Becky' Alexander, and cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018. He was well known and greatly loved by the community and his family. Graduated from the Prairie View Training School and served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War including leading a life of service for the City of Brookshire and Waller County as he served in the Brookshire Volunteer Fire Department, City of Brookshire, Waller County Public Works Department and Brookshire Police Department. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Kenneth R. Alexander, Sr., his brothers and sisters: Oscar Alexander, Jr., Jessie Willard Alexander, Jewel Alexander Preston, Princess Marie Alexander, Romeo JC Alexander, Sr., Bennie Lewis and Carl Rudolph Alexander, Sr., He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Alexander; four children: Jessie W. Alexander, Fredrick D. Alexander, Pamela Y. Brooks and Carolyn D. Gooden; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A local viewing will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Schmidt Funeral Home, 819 Waller Avenue in Brookshire, Texas 77423 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. An additional viewing will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 from 9:00am to 11:00am with the funeral service to follow at 11:00am at the Christian City Fellowship located at 5243 Highway 36 North, Sealy, Texas 77474 with Rev. Rusty Griffin officiating.
