Mr. Gary Howard Brewer was born to the late George Dewey Brewer, Jr. and Virginia Drake Brewer on February 15, 1954, in LaGrange, Georgia.

Gary joined Welcome Baptist Church of LaGrange, Georgia at an early age where he was baptized and begin his walk with Christ. Throughout his years he was consistent in his Faith and had a firm relationship with Christ.

He was a star Basketball player during his high school days and this is where he received his name “IceMan” he was “left-handed” with an out of this world jump shot that made him the “coldest” on the court. He graduated from Troup High School in Lagrange, Georgia and joined the Unites States Army in 1975, where he served his country, and later he was honorably discharged.

Gary has always been gainfully employed. He was a truck driver for Eli Whit for many years and after the company closed, he later went to work as a General Manager for Money Back, INC. where he retired.

Gary was well known around LaGrange, Ga. For being kind to everyone, he always had wisdom for those he met, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was also known for his keen eye for fashion. In his past time, he enjoyed discussing politics over coffee, watching sports, dancing, and listening to music and spending time in Atlanta with his daughter.

On August 21, 1976, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Cynthia Ward. This union was blessed with one daughter, Ericka N. Brewer.

Gary passed away at his home on September 10, 2017. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, three sisters, Mary Davis, Theonola Brewer Gholston, Willie Frances Brewer; one brother George Brewer, Jr.; five Brothers in-law, Clayton Lipscombs, Gary K. Ward, Douglas Peterson, Larry Davis, Sr., and Eddie White, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted, loving daughter Ericka (Eric Gunn) Brewer; God-Daughters: Keva Dixon, Victoria L. Hill; God-sons: Jamar & Jamal Hill; three beloved sisters: Annie (George) Kelly, Barbara White, Ruby Peterson; three beloved brothers, Nathaniel Brewer, Leon Brewer, Charles (Mimi McMiller) Brewer; one brother-in-law R.L. (Gwen) Ward, one-sister-in-law Mary Ward. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that he loved dearly.
