She was a caring person, concerned about everyone she knew and always wanting to help others in times of trouble. Church was important to her. She looked forward to the times when grandchildren and great grandchildren were in town for a visit and surrounded her on the pew. She could remember the names of all the preachers in all the congregations she ever attended, and in later years would watch the sermon online if she was not able to attend in person.

She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young, but later had an interesting and varied career, selling encyclopedias, doing market research, and conducting field research for government studies. She was so good at interviewing people that she could get someone’s life history standing in line at the grocery store.
