She and her husband Michael Cline came to Kansas in the Spring of 1877 and located in Marion County until the next Spring when they moved to Ellsworth County and they resided in the Kanopolis, Ellsworth and Wilson area most of her life. She was baptised as an infant in Letterkenny, Franklin County, Pennsylvania in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran faith, which she later professed and lived her faith the remainder of her life. She was well remembered by her family, friends and neighbors as a kind, loving and thoughtful woman. She leaves her 2 sons, 3 daughters, 25 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and one brother.
One of her grandchildren recalled her grandmother stating, 'she was ready to meet her Savior and was only waiting for Him in His own good time to call her home.'
Funeral services were held at the home of her son conducted by Rev. J R Tercy and also in the Presbyterian Church in Wilson, Ks. She was laid to rest at the side of her husband Michael M Cline in the Wilson Cemetery.
This information was taken from her obituary which was published in the Ellsworth Reporter newspaper on 8 Nov 1917.
Despite numerous health issues, including pneumonia several times and constant problems with her feet and pain, and the amputation of one of her feet, she was a constant faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, her family and friends. I haven't found any information to prove that she was likely diabetic, but I surmise that could have been behind the foot problems and eventual amputation. I will keep researching to see if I can find anything to back that up. I do have newspaper articles stating these foot issues and the pneumonia.
