Edith Evelyn Sandlan was born June 21, 1921 at Piney, Manitoba, the daughter of Henry and Inga (Torkelson) Sandlan. As a young girl her family moved to a farm near Edmore, ND. She attended the Triumph School and the Derrick School.

Edith married Alf Larson on June 18, 1943 in Lakota, ND. They moved to Michigan in 1947.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn & Sharon Larson; a granddaughter, Casey Schultz; three brothers, Kenneth, Leonard, and Earl; and six sisters, Lila Sandlan, Norma Seldon, Della Mack, Daisy Haugland, Mae Geer, and infant sister, Kay.
