Funeral services for Myrtis Abercrombie will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel in Oakdale with Reverend Elden Mayo and Reverend Jacob Vollom officiating. Committal Service will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery of Oakdale under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Myrtis, 79, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born September 4, 1939 in Beaver to the union of Edgar Lee Miller and Janie Margaret Johnson Miller. Myrtis was a Baptist by faith and a homemaker. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Edgar and Margaret Johnson Miller; her loving husband of 21 years, Leland Mack Abercrombie; two brothers, Arnold Lee Miller and Helmar Miller; and two sisters, Viola Miller and Essie Mae Quirk & her loving companion of 35 years Leroy Jimmie Dickens Sr.
Myrtis is survived by: three daughters, Margaret Reppond (David) of Oakdale ,Deborah Morgan (Richard) of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Essie Mae Copeland of Hermitage, Tennessee; one brother, Milford Miller (Brenda) of Pine Prairie; one sister, Rena Bushnell of Pine Prairie; three grandchildren, David Reppond, Jr., William Mack Reppond, and Joseph Arredondo (Brie); one great grandchild, Keith Arredondo; one sister-in-law, Louise Miller; 4 nieces, Carol Miller Skaggs, Barbara Ross, Susan Sanford, and Melissa Arceneaux; four nephews, Greg Quirk, Sonny Bushnell, Eric Bushnell, and Milford Miller, Jr., great nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers to serve will be David Reppond, Sr., David Reppond, Jr., William Mack Reppond, Joseph Arredondo, Greg Quirk, Milford Miller, and Billy Mancil.
