On 8 January 1935, Gladys Presley gave birth to twins, Jesse Garon and Elvis Aaron, in a shotgun shack in Tupelo, Mississippi. Jesse Garon was stillborn and announced dead at birth.

Jesse Garon Presley was buried in a grave next to (right of) his Uncle Noah E. Presley. This was/is a family plot. Jesse Garon's body could not be removed from the ground to relocate to Memphis, thus the Cenotaph.

My grandmother, Sarah Ethel Presley, was present at the birth of both and may have been able to determine if the infants were identical twins. However, at birth, I believe the visual similarities may not be as evident as time would have revealed.

Note: There is a historical discrepancy in print regarding his grave site. It is listed in many books that there is 'no' marker, and other books state there is a marker which is unmarked.
