Jacob Moritz born 1849 in Bavaria, Germany. Died 1910 in Germany from cancer. Was the owner and operator of "The Salt Lake Brewing Co." and a very respected member of the Community among both Mormons and Jews. He was a very kind and thoughtful man who always helped the poor and the needy regardless of who they were. He never did anything to deserve to have his name tarnished by turning him into "Emo" the stuff of evil local folk legend and Halloween pranks by teenagers. Because of the pranks, his ashes were removed a long time ago to an undisclosed location. (Perhaps buried with his wife in California). I felt a need to help set the record straight about this fine community leader.
