A top Iowa State University golfer was found dead on a course after being assaulted — and a man has been charged with her murder, authorities said. Spanish native Celia Barquin Arozamena, 22, was discovered at the Coldwater Links golf course Monday morning.Spanish amateur golfer. She won the 2018 European Ladies Amateur Championship.
She qualified for the 2018 U.S. Women's Open where she missed the cut. She had been a member of the Iowa State Cyclones women's golf team from 2014 to 2018. She had reached Stage II of the LPGA Q-School which is to be played in mid-October.

On 17 September 2018, Barquín was discovered dead at the Coldwater Golf Links golf course in Ames, Iowa. Police said she had been murdered, determining she died following an assault. A 22-year-old man was charged with her murder.
