Rita B. Abromitis, 93, of Middletown entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Hershey Medical Center.
She was born October 17, 1924 in Lavelle, PA and was the loving daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Weidenbacher) Witman.
Rita was a member of Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
She enjoyed many things such as sewing, crocheting, swimming, dancing and cooking. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and making them her delicious bacon pot pie and crumb cake for all to enjoy. She also loved bus trips to Atlantic City and teaching grand kids to play cards.
In addition to her parents Rita was preceded in death by her husband, James C.; grandson, Michael Abromitis and ten siblings.
Rita is survived by her son, James Abromitis and his wife Cecelia of Middletown; daughter, Sandra Crown and her husband Joseph of Middletown; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; good friend, Lillian "Lil" Gopfhus and numerous nieces and nephews.
Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family
The family has entrusted the Matinchek Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 260 East Main St. Middletown, PA with the funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in Rita's name to Penn State Children’s Hospital
