He was born April 11, 1937, to Lonnie and Carole (Elftman) Swenson at Dallas and was raised in the Dallas/Chetek area. After high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Larry later lived in Missouri and drove semi for several years. He lived in the Wausau area for the past 10 years.
Surviving are a son, Charles "Tommy" Swenson of Schofield; a grandson, Michael Chapman of Fond du Lac; a brother, Perry (Carol) Swenson of Dallas; a sister, Rita (James) Pintor of Jackson; nephews, Robert (Shelly) Swenson and Wayne (Teri) Swenson; nieces, Carole Klotz, Dolly (Pat) Limbach, Angelia (Todd) Thull and Keri (Mike) Kunkel; 11 grandnieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.
Larry's parents preceded him in death.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, from Dallas Lutheran Church, Rev. Bob Friese officiating, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Town of Sioux Creek, Barron County.
Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. Sunday from Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, Dallas, and an hour prior to services at the church Monday. [Obtained 9 May 2007 from news-shield.com.]
